Leukemia
Bone marrow is the soft, spongy center of the bone that produces blood cells. In our body there are three types of blood cells in the bone marrow white, red and platelets. White cells also called leukocytes that can help from diseases and fight with infections. Red blood or erythrocytes that control hemoglobin. The basic role of red cells is to carry oxygen to all parts of body from the lungs to the tissues. Third blood cell is Platelets also known as thrombocytes that are important for blood clotting to control bleeding. Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the bone marrow. It mostly effect the adults and children under age 15. Researchers
believe that smoking is the main cause of leukemia.
There are various type of leukemia distinguish as Acute leukemia is common type of leukemia characterized by the fast growth of unformed blood cells. Acute leukemia also called acute lymphoblastic leukemia and acute lymphoid leukemia. Immature cells produce in the bone morrow and blood. Chronic leukemia known as Chronic myelogenous leukemia or chronic myeloid. The development of Chronic leukemia is generally slow. The people that suffered with chronic leukemia may not feel its effects for years. It damages the white blood cells and affect the people of all ages. Myeloid leukemia is common in old age people. Myeloid leukemia affects the myeloid cells. Myeloid cells are malfunctioning. The bone marrow does not function properly and not produce normal blood cells.
